The Glorious Twelfth marks the real beginning of the sporting year, and with it comes the first young wild red grouse from the Yorkshire moors.
These are the genuine harvest of the heather: wild-bred, naturally organic, never medicated, and still regarded by many as the finest-flavoured game bird of all. Their diet of young heather shoots gives them a rich, distinctive taste that no reared bird can match.
The grouse will be supplied New York-dressed (head, feet and wings on) exactly as the professional kitchens require, then carefully prepared so they arrive oven-ready. A box of six is ideal for a dinner party, for sharing, or for freezing a few birds to enjoy later. They travel well and make a memorable gift for a fellow grouse enthusiast.
Members enjoy these superb birds at a considerable advantage over the price paid through retailers.
