Corrib by Magee 1866 — our all-time favourite returns in new Donegal tweeds: smart, substantial, pure wool herringbone, classic raglan tailoring — and as warm as a built-in stove!

Original price was: £685.00.Current price is: £479.00.

A biting wind across a racecourse, a frosty morning in the country, or a particularly disagreeable November day in London: these are the occasions for which the Irish invented proper overcoats. And few are more reassuring than the Magee Corrib coat, one of CountryClubuk’s all-time favourites.

The Corrib returns in handsome new Donegal herringbone tweeds, with the Oat Herringbone particularly catching our eye. Its richly textured weave combines warm oatmeal, beige and brown tones, subtly varied in the manner of traditional Donegal cloth. It is a splendid colourway for town or country, equally at home over a dark business suit or a favourite tweed jacket.

Named after Lough Corrib, the great Irish lake famous for its wild brown trout, this is a coat with a thoroughly Irish pedigree. Magee has been weaving and tailoring in Donegal since 1866, and the Corrib is a fine example of what happens when good cloth, sensible design and generations of experience come together.
